Anyway let’s forget about football itself for a moment and do justice to guests from Liverpool –supporters, club employees, players and manager. They’ve proved to be true gentlemen.
The day before the game Everton famous former performers Graeme Sharp and Ian Snodin, who are ambassadors of the club today, met 20 children from families that became victims of Chornobyl disaster at the Radisson hotel. Kids got souvenirs, shirts and magazines with players’ autographs from the Toffees’ stars. The meeting with manager of the team Roberto Martinez also took place there.
Sharp and Snodin also paid a visit to Kyiv secondary school #309 and arranged football master class there.
On the field Everton tried to change the score till the final whistle using only fair football methods.
English fans supported their team really worthily. After the game players came up to them and gave their shirts.
At the post-match press conference Roberto Martinez didn’t answer journalists’ questions briefly.
Only one thing can be said about that – real gentlemen work and play for Everton FC!
