He passed away on February 21 at the age of 86.
A lot of people came to say final goodbyes to the legend of Soviet and Ukrainian football. They entered the church one-by-one, left flowers and said some words.
Of course Koman’s wife Raisa and son Mykhailo were there just like other relatives, friends, and representatives of different Dynamo generations: Volodymyr Troshkin, Andriy Biba, Volodymyr Muntian, Volodymyr Veremeev, Olexandr Ishchenko, Olexiy Mykhailychenko, Leonid Buriak, Oleh Luzhnyi, Serhiy Shmatovalenko, Olexandr Boiko, Volodymyr Onyshchenko and others.
The White-Blues academy, Dynamo U-21 and Dynamo-2 coaches and players also came to the ceremony. So did the Football Federations of Ukraine and Kyiv direction, FC Dynamo Kyiv staff, journalists and fans.
Eventually people formed a corridor and let Mykhailo Koman be taken to the car. After that he was buried at Baikove Cemetery.
- A lot has been said and written about Mykhailo Koman. He’s our legend, history and whole epoch, - shared his reminiscences Volodymyr Muntian. – He’s left a large imprint on the sands of time. He’ll always live in our hearts.
