The Dynamo U19 head coach shared his thoughts after his team’s win.
– Are you satisfied with the result and performance?
- I’m satisfied with the result but the quality of our play still leaves room for improvement. We played well, we adjusted well, but when it came to finishing attacks - where there was a lot of space - we didn’t use the ball properly. We couldn’t create enough scoring chances to add two or three more goals in the first half. There was plenty of space but we lacked the technical skill. We’ll be working on that.
– The first two goals came from set pieces. Is that something you specifically train?
- Yes, there are zones where the ball needs to be delivered and zones where players have to make runs. In that moment everyone got to their areas on time, there was a good cross and we scored.
The second goal from the free kick was down to individual skill. We have players capable of executing set pieces like that. It was good that Redushko came on as a substitute - today he had both a goal and an assist.
– Some players returned from injuries today. What’s the squad situation now?
- We’re gradually giving them playing time. Redushko and Andreiko are coming back from serious injuries while Osypenko is returning from a minor knock. Step by step we’ll give them more workload and minutes because these are players we’re counting on. They need to be regular starters and play a key role in our orchestra.
