Ivan Andreiko, who scored one of Dynamo’s two goals in their UEFA Youth League match against Swedish side Brommapojkarna, shared his thoughts after the game.
– What are your emotions after the match?
– The emotions are positive. A win is a win – and that’s the main thing.
– You really influenced the game today – you scored and provided an assist. Did everything you planned come off on the pitch?
– That’s my job – to make a difference on the field, to score goals, to make assists. The most important thing is that I helped the team.
– The Swedish team promised a tough match at home.
– Yes, after the first leg our coaches told us that they had warned they’d show their best football on their artificial turf. We had two training sessions on artificial grass and I think we played quite well.
– When you scored, did you actually aim for the top corner?
– Honestly I was aiming low. But our coaches always tell us: “If you shoot low the ball will fly into the top corner.” And that’s exactly what happened.
– Ivaskiv said that during training there were similar goals from sharp angles – instead of crossing he shot directly. Was that something you had practiced?
– Yes, that’s true. It was a rehearsed combination – a pass backward and then a shot. It was a great attack down the right wing. Kyrylo Osypenko passed to me I controlled the ball and was about to cut inside to shoot but then I heard Iva shout: “Wait, roll it back!” So I passed it to him and he scored.
– At one point it seemed that Dynamo had even more support from the stands than the home team. Did you feel that?
– Yes, absolutely. We could really feel that support. I want to sincerely thank everyone who came to cheer for us.
