He featured as right winger switching positions with Vladyslav Kalytvyntsev from time to time.
As a true team captain Andriy was taking up the running and creating chances for himself and his teammates. Seven minutes into the game Yarmolenko assisted Ideye, who didn’t manage to score. Later he started a side attack, which could have resulted in goal.
18 minutes into the first half Andriy took a free kick, passed to Tsurikov, but defenders blocked two Andriy’s shots.
After the break Yarmolenko achieved his aim. He eluded Zoria defender inside the penalty area and passed to Younes Belhanda, but Yarmash blocked Moroccan halfback’s shot with his hand and referee awarded penalty for the White-Blues.
Yarmolenko converted from the spot, after which he ran up to Serhiy Rebrov to shake hands.
After the final whistle Andriy took his son Ivan to the pitch.
Supporters and performers were pleased with spectacular and attacking play.
