Dynamo U19 midfielder Kyrylo Pashko commented on the victory over Zorya (1:0) in Matchday 24 of the National league U19 and his recovery from injury.
– Congratulations on the win! Share your impressions of the match.
– Of course, we’re very happy to win matches like this. It was a hard-fought victory because the score was 0:0 until the 79th minute. It’s very nice to score at the end and win because I think we deserved more based on the game. We should have converted our chances earlier but the most important thing is three points. We’ll keep working and try to complete our tasks from the beginning, not leave it until late.
– In the episode with the goal players in your position often pass back to a defender. You decided to create danger and sent the ball to the far post. Did you understand that you just needed to deliver it into that area and something might come of it?
– Of course. I lifted my head and saw that we had a lot of players there so I needed to send the ball into that area and someone would get on it. That’s exactly what happened.
– This was your first appearance on the pitch this season. Tell us about your conditions and what it felt like to return and play an official match.
– It’s impossible to describe these emotions because I had a very serious injury. I’m very happy I went through this journey to be able to play. First of all I’m very grateful to the team and coaches for giving me a chance. I’ll do everything I can for us to win.
– Tell us about your recovery journey and what it was like psychologically. What did you feel when you stepped onto the pitch - was it a sense of relief?
– In the first seconds after I came onto the field I felt that I had finally done it because I was recovering for almost half a year. It wasn’t an easy time but it was something I had to go through. That’s the path - you can’t do anything about it.
– There’s still a lot of work ahead to improve and return to your previous level?
– Of course, this is only the beginning. There’s still a lot of work to do to improve. I’ll do everything for the team.
– There’s strong competition in your position, especially with Ousmane Savane recently joining. How does this healthy competition work within the team during training?
– Of course, everyone tries to help Ousmane because we see that it’s difficult for him due to the language barrier, and we don’t speak French either. But we try to guide him, teach him words so he can adapt. We try not to put pressure on him because we understand how big a step this is for him in football. The whole team supports him and will help him improve. And competition is always necessary, especially healthy competition - you can’t do without it.
– There are six rounds left until the end of the season and this stretch is considered the most important. How should the team get through it mentally and physically?
– The main thing is that we believe we can become champions. We’ll do everything for that. And how it turns out - time will tell.
