On Friday, February 13, Dynamo’s youth team played another friendly match during their training camp in Turkey. Pavlo Cherednichenko’s side faced the Danish club Hvidovre U19.
From the opening minutes Dynamo took control of possession but the first real danger came from the opponents. In the 6th minute Somka saved the team by denying a one-on-one opportunity after a penetrating pass from the right flank.
Dynamo responded with inaccurate efforts: Lobko headed wide after connecting with a corner and Hubenko fired off target on the volley following a cross from the left. In another moment Lobko was just inches away from finishing at the far post after a lofted pass from the right edge of the penalty area.
In the 24th minute Andreiko nearly produced a masterpiece. On the left corner of the box Ivan dribbled past three (!) opponents, beat another defender but failed to hit the net. However just a minute later Dynamo opened the scoring. A player on trial delivered a cross from the right and Lobko headed home from close range – 1:0.
Three minutes later the lead was doubled. Fedorenko launched a counterattack, passed left to Andreiko and Ivan struck precisely into the far corner past the goalkeeper – 2:0. Riding the momentum White-Blues continued attacking and the third goal soon followed. In the 37th minute Dykyi crossed from the left flank and Hubenko outjumped his marker to head in from close range – 3:0.
Despite their dominance Dynamo conceded just before halftime. After a low cross from the right the ball deflected off Santits and flew into the corner of Somka’s net – 3:1.
After the break Dynamo pushed forward again. Hubenko hit the outside of the net from inside the box, Liusin shot well off target from distance and Lobko found the corner – but was ruled offside.
In the 53rd minute the advantage was extended. Hubenko found the player on trial with a pass from the right flank and he cut slightly inside before unleashing a superb strike under the crossbar – 4:1.
In the 71st minute Andreiko hit the post with a shot from about 20 meters. Immediately afterward opponents reduced the deficit. Kalle was sent through on goal, outmuscled Ohorodnyk and pushed the ball past Manko – 4:2.
The goal boosted the Danes’ confidence and in the 75th minute they scored again. After a cross from the left and a layoff from a teammate Ejerstrand struck from the edge of the box into the corner – 4:3.
However the final word belonged to Dynamo. In the closing stages Andreiko dominated his opponent on the flank. Although Liusin missed from the center of the box after Ivan’s pass Fedorenko made no mistake, sealing the final score at 5:3.
Dynamo U19 will play their first U19 championship match of the new year on Thursday, February 19, when they host Rukh Lviv’s youth team.
