Dynamo Kyiv defender Kostiantyn Vivcharenko spoke about team’s preparations for the upcoming match against fellow Kyiv side Obolon.
– You missed the previous match against Polissia. How is your health now, have you fully recovered?
– Thank you. Fortunately I’ve recovered and feel good now so I’ll be preparing for the next game.
– Was it harder to watch the match against Polissia from home?
– Yes, I think it was the most nerve-racking match. When I watched it on TV I experienced a lot of emotions.
– How important was that victory for the team and the atmosphere inside the squad?
– Polissia are a team that is currently above us in the standings so of course it was an important clash for three valuable points. The most important thing is that we won.
– Will you have a special mindset for the Kyiv derby against Obolon?
– For us it’s just a regular match in the Ukrainian championship. You still get three points for a win so we’re preparing in the usual way.
– Obolon are usually quite a stubborn opponent. How difficult do you expect Friday’s match to be?
– Yes, games against them are always very tough. They are more of a defensive team. We will try to score and win.
– The first-round match was quite dramatic and ended in a 2:2 draw. Have you thought about that game?
– That’s already history. Many matches have been played since then. The most important game is the next one – the one on Friday – so we’re focused on preparing for it.
