They had been getting ready for the main football event of the year in Chernihiv – visit of famous Dynamo – for a couple of weeks. Although the city is located not really far from Kyiv, it was the first official game between these two sides. Home side did all the necessary preparations properly, so the turf was of acceptable quality. The only surprise was snow that covered the pitch. Chernihiv side fans deserve special respect. They supported the team passionately despite cold weather. Quite a lot of Dynamo fans came from Kyiv.
Olexandr Khatskevych used perhaps the best possible lineup. Mykola Shaparenko was among first eleven in the second game in a row. Many Dynamo football school trainees performed for Desna: Kostiantyn Makhnovskyi, Anton Bratkov, Olexandr Chornomorets, Temur Partsvania, and Denys Oliynyk.
While both sides were getting accustomed to the pitch Josip Pivaric put a cross into the box and Denys Harmash netted the ball early in the game! Still Desna looked pretty well and even managed to score, but referee cancelled the goal due to the foul against Heorhiy Bushchan.
Both sides had scoring opportunities. Late in the match Desna did their best to equalize and Dynamo used that for a counterattack. Artem Besedin found Nazariy Rusyn, who hit the open goal!
