FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the Champions League 3rd qualifying round first leg against Rangers FC (1:1):
- Of course we’re upset we let victory slip away. On the other hand, we knew it would all be settled in Glasgow. It was just the first half. To get ready for the second one we’ll play our UPL game on August 9.
- How come visitors controlled the situation on the field late in the game?
- Two sides play football. One tried to preserve the score counting on fast counterattacks. We had opportunities for that. We were supposed to be more confident in certain episodes, but made mistakes. We’ll watch the video and analyze it. Lack of such level games is definitely our downside.
- Rangers won’t play the second leg in their home ground. Can that benefit your team?
- I don’t think so. No matter which stadium it is, most fans will be supporting your team. Support means a lot and I want to thank our fans today. We felt almost home.
- Are you going to play different football against Veres in the UPL or maybe you’ll be modeling the match against Rangers?
- I haven’t pondered this yet, but we’ll definitely have some lineup changes. Besides the trip to Rivne will take quite a while.
