Needless to say how special was this game for Olexandr Khatskevych’s men. On August 2 they lost against Young Boys at the Stade de Suisse 0:2 and thus didn’t reach the Champions League group stage. Still neither did the Swiss side and eventually they faced the White-Blues in the Europa League.
Dynamo gaffer couldn’t count on several leading performers, but the true surprise was the rotation of goalkeepers. Heorhiy Bushchan made his first appearance in euro cups. The debut was a success as he preserved the clean sheet.
In the first half the home side dominated. Our defenders had a lot of work as Young Boys created one chance after another. They unleashed 13 shots on goal before the break.
After the break things changed rapidly and it was a pleasure to follow Kyiv side play. 63 minutes into the game Vitaliy netted the ball, but referee cancelled the goal due to offside. Still Dynamo midfielder didn’t get upset and scored correctly in seven minutes after assist from Gonzalez – 1:0!
The outcome of the game is Dynamo victory which guarantees the White-Blues a place in the Europa League knock-out stage. In remaining games Olexandr Khatskevych’s men should fulfill another task and win the group.
