Dynamo Kyiv head coach Ihor Kostiuk spoke to the media following the second leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round against Greek side PAOK (0:2).
– What do you see as the main difference between the two matches that proved decisive in the outcome?
– Today's match was won by one player – Konstantelias. Unfortunately, we don't have a player of that level of quality. We gave everything today, and our team has potential. We understand what we need to improve. PAOK's players have a very high level of technical ability. We saw how they adapted their game, but I think we can take the first half as a positive because we played well. Where we failed to do our job, the opponent took advantage, and I'm referring specifically to the player I just mentioned.
– The first half was evenly contested, and in some moments Dynamo even looked the better side. Did conceding just before half-time decide the tie?
– In the episode leading to the first goal, we didn't do enough. For some reason, we lost our concentration. Voloshyn switched off in that moment, even though everything had been going well before that and we were adapting our shape effectively. Nazar failed to track the situation, and Konstantelias took advantage of it to open the scoring.
– Your next match is on August 6 in Lublin. Are you planning to prepare for it there as well?
– As you know, unfortunately, we are unable to play at our own stadium and enjoy the full support of our fans in Kyiv. So we will prepare for the next match in Lublin.
