Defender of Dynamo Kyiv Maksym Korobov shared his thoughts after the 3:1 victory over Zorya Luhansk in Matchday 24 of the Ukrainian Premier League:
— The team followed the game plan and raised the emotional level. We achieved a positive result and controlled the match. Maybe the early goal from a penalty unsettled us a bit but we saw it through to the end.
— How important is this win emotionally after losing the previous two matches?
— Of course, every win gives you a boost emotionally. Those two defeats… It’s disappointing but we move on, analyze and keep working.
— After conceding it looked like the team still had an advantage. Did you feel you could still secure a positive result?
— Of course. When I’m on the pitch I believe in the team, my teammates and myself. Even if we concede early it’s not a reason to get discouraged. I believed we could win.
— Zorya has always been a tough and principled opponent for Dynamo. Was there any special motivation for this match?
— Not really. I approach every game the same way — like it’s the last one. Today was this match so we had to get the result here. Next week there’s another game and that’s how I prepare for each one.
— Today you were up against Artem Slesar on the flank. How was it playing against him?
— Not difficult but not easy either — just a normal battle. We know each other, he’s very fast player. Sometimes he got past me, sometimes I won the ball back. That’s football.
— On Tuesday Dynamo face Bukovyna Chernivtsi in the Ukrainian Cup semifinal. Are your thoughts already on that match?
— Of course. We celebrated this win for about 15-20 minutes and now our thoughts are already on Bukovyna because we need to win the Cup.
