The forward of Dynamo Kyiv Matviy Ponomarenko, who scored a brace in the 3:0 Ukrainian Cup semi-final win over Bukovyna Chernivtsi, shared his impressions of the match.
— Impressions are great. It’s good that we won today. The team was incredibly motivated to reach the final and, God willing, win it. So we are returning to Kyiv with a positive mood and preparing for the next game.
— Was the third goal one of the easiest in your career or did it still require effort?
— You still had to run there. People say it looks easy but it’s not. You need to choose the right position, feel the timing so your teammate can deliver the pass. It may look simple from the outside but you still have to get there in time.
— How was the atmosphere in the stands with more than 10 thousands fans? Have you played in such support before?
— Honestly, I didn’t expect it. It was top-level. It’s great that so many people came and there was such incredible support. Even though it wasn’t in our favor it’s still nice to play when people love football and come to watch matches. The atmosphere today was truly excellent.
— It looked like with your mindset today Bukovyna didn’t really stand a chance.
— The team came out only to win today. Bukovyna talked a lot but we are Dynamo Kyiv — we don’t pay attention to that. It doesn’t really matter who we play against, our job is to go out in every match and win. That’s our goal.
