FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Mykola Shaparenko has shared his impressions of the draw against FC Chornomorets Odesa (1:1) that let Kyivans secure the league title.
- I would like to congratulate all Dynamo fans who supported us throughout the season. Thanks for being with us. I think we deserve the title.
- Was it unexpected to fight for the title against Oleksandria, not against Shakhtar?
- I wouldn’t say so. Shakhtar always keep the bar high, but it’s impossible to finish first every year. Oleksandria are really good team with decent players, but we’re better (smiling).
- Dynamo haven’t suffered a single defeat in 29 games. What do you think of that?
- In the first part of the season we deserved criticism for our performance in European competitions, because we didn’t live up to the expectations placed on us. We can make adjustments for logistics, a lot of moving, but this is secondary. We should have achieved better results in European competitions anyway. We will draw conclusions and try to demonstrate a more mature game in the future.
- Which moment was crucial this season in your opinion?
- I think it was the win against Kryvbas. They’re tough opponent. I guess after that win we realized no one would stop us.
