On Wednesday, September 2, Dynamo’s youth team played another match in the renewed U19 National League. In the 5th round, Vadym Milko and Andrii Fartushniak’s side faced Cherkasy-based LNZ. The match was a home game for our team and was played at the Dynamo Training Base in Koncha-Zaspa.
At the beginning of the game, the teams competed for initiative, with the hosts having more success in this regard: Dynamo created danger near the LNZ goal twice, with Bekerskyi, Buravtsov and Andreiko involved. The Cherkasy side responded with a shot wide of the goal. As time went on, the Kyiv side moved the game closer to the visitors’ goal and took three consecutive corners, but our team was unable to make the most of any of these set pieces.
The visitors also threatened Volodko’s goal from set pieces, but a free-kick delivery into the penalty area did not prove particularly dangerous.
In the second half of the opening period, Cherkasy managed to take the lead. After a prolonged attack and a cross into the penalty area, Udovychenko produced the visitors’ first shot on target, which resulted in a goal – 0:1.
Overall, the teams did not create too many spectacular chances in the first half, while there was plenty of physical battle. The spectators saw no more goals before the break, with the teams heading into halftime with the visitors holding a narrow advantage.
Dynamo started the second half more actively, doing everything possible to get back into the game. Andreiko was unlucky at first, but the very next attack proved successful: Buravtsov made an excellent, timely pass into the penalty area, and Fedorenko expertly finished it with a low shot – 1:1.
Before the teams had even played a third of the half, an air raid alert was announced and the participants headed to the shelter. The danger passed approximately an hour and a half later. The visitors were awarded a dangerous free kick, but Volodko collected the ball and neutralized the threat.
An emotional game continued, resulting in a large number of fouls. In one such incident, Velykyi received his second yellow card, leaving his team a player down. The sending-off had a significant impact on the subsequent course of the game.
Dynamo took complete control of the initiative and moved the game into the visitors’ half, regularly creating threats near their goal. The chances created by Hubenko and Andreiko are worth mentioning. Finally, after an attack down the right flank and a pass into the penalty area, the hosts got their reward: Fedorenko scored his second goal of the game – 2:1.
A few minutes later, Fedorenko completed his hat-trick. After intercepting the ball and receiving a teammate’s pass from the right, he produced a precise shot from almost the edge of the penalty area into the left corner. Kvikvinia set the final score with a shot from the edge of the penalty area after a brilliant combination involving Andreiko and Buravtsov. Thus, Dynamo secured a comeback victory by a score of 4:1.
Dynamo’s next U19 National League game will be away. In a week, on September 9, our team will face Zhytomyr-based Polissia in the 6th round.
