The versatile player of FC Dynamo Kyiv Oleksandr Karavaiev shared his emotions on Football Hub after the 3:0 win over Bukovyna Chernivtsi and reaching the Ukrainian Cup final.
— The atmosphere here in Ternopil is incredible. It seems that when Dynamo comes it’s always a big football celebration. For you too today it was a big occasion — you scored three goals and didn’t concede any. How easy was it on the pitch?
— It definitely wasn’t easy because this is a really qualified team, and it’s confirmed by the fact that they have already secured promotion to the Premier league. I congratulated guys I spoke to — they are very good. You can see from their play that they are ready for the Premier league. It was not easy for us today. But I think everything was decided by the players’ class, quality and execution in key moments.
— In the first half Bukovyna had two chances and could have scored. Was that a turning point when you later scored?
— When one team converts its chances, it naturally gains an advantage. And vice versa the team that doesn’t take its opportunities can break down psychologically, and that affects the result.
— In terms of the Cup we understand it is now a priority for Dynamo…
— Of course, and not only because of the situation in the league. We now have double motivation to win the trophy but our goal is always to win both the Cup and the championship.
