FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Oleksandr Pikhalionok has commented upon the game against Galatasaray SK (3:3).
- The game was very emotional. What do you think of it?
- These are positive emotions. Fans’ support was outstanding. It was nice even though we played away. It’s good we got our first point in such a game. We’ll try to win the next one.
- Was this the loudest fans’ support in your career?
- I guess only Hampden Park can compete against Galatasaray stadium. I mean stadiums I played at.
- Did the atmosphere impact Galatasaray players? They were two goals ahead halfway through the first half…
- I’d say it’s about being focused. Of course it’s easier to attack when home fans cheer you up, but we didn’t mark players in those episodes and conceded. Anyway, we didn’t give up and pulled one back. I haven’t seen the episode with penalty yet, so I don’t know what happened… Fortunately we managed to equalize.
- Did Vanat’s goal help Dynamo get back into the game?
- I think it’s always like that when you score before the break. Even if you’re 0:2 down.
- What tasks did coach give you and Andrii Yarmolenko when you were taking the field?
- He told us to play forward, win the ball in the midfield. Yarmolenko took the field, scored two and left the field (laughing).
- You got an assist to your name. Did Andrii thank you?
- He scored a brace and made a strong contribution into this outcome.
- Did the return of Yarmolenko boost players’ confidence?
- Sure. He’s our role model both on and off the field.
