- Oleksandr, in the episode with the first goal conceded, how did you get back into position, how were you playing against your opponent and where did you fail to cover in that moment?
- First of all I lost the ball – I don’t know if it was a foul or not, let them review that, you can't change it now. But then, honestly, we lost track of the players and they scored off the rebound.
- Anything positive to take from the game?
- The positive is that Dynamo didn't get discouraged after going 0:2 down. We scored before halftime and at the start of the second half, it felt like we had momentum. But then again the missed chances – and we end up with a 3:3 draw.
- You mentioned that Dynamo keeps making the same mistakes - could you elaborate?
- Yes, I agree with you. We are repeating the same mistakes. We don't score enough but what’s really frustrating is that after coming back from 0:2 down to lead 3:2 we should have finished the game off. Instead we concede a goal in the final minutes and it ends in a draw.
- Was it especially tough in the holding midfield against the energetic South American players who started Karpaty’s attacks?
- Well, as always. It’s a central match of the round or not the most central but I wouldn’t say that playing against Karpaty was particularly difficult. The game flowed well, especially in the first 15-20 minutes. After we conceded the first goal, though, the referee started calling fouls on us but before that all the whistles were against us.
- Seven goals conceded in the last three matches is too much for Dynamo Kyiv. How is this being perceived in the locker room and is it being discussed among the team?
- Yes, it's really a tough period right now, because in the last three matches we’ve conceded goals in the final minutes and lost victories. We’ve already dropped six points. But it’s okay, we shouldn’t hang our heads. We need to keep moving forward; the team has to go through this. Our next match is against Crystal Palace – very tough and interesting opponent. They haven't lost a single official match so far. I’ve been following their stats so we’re in for a difficult game. We’ll analyze this match and move forward.
- What can Dynamo impose on Crystal Palace after such exhausting games in the UPL and the Ukrainian Cup? How hard is it to switch to a completely different tournament?
- This is football – anything can happen.
