The White-Blues skipper Olexandr Shovkovskyi made his 582nd appearance for the native club and thus hit the record of Oleh Blokhin.
582 matches include 390 UPL fixtures, 57 Ukrainian Cup, 7 Ukrainian Super Cup and 128 euro cups games.
After the final whistle he commented upon the match and this achievement:
- We started the game nervously, but still had so many chances in the first half… If we used at least half of them we would have been more confident. Still our opponents also have some aims. Anyway we reached our goal eventually.
- Kravets missed a lot of chances in the first half. Did you support him during the break?
- One can’t have claims to him as he fulfilled a great amount of work. We can only thank him for his dedication. He didn’t manage to hit the target, but he followed the game plan. He’ll score in following matches.
- Is Artem upset?
- I’m sure he is, but first of all it’s important that we’ve won. It doesn’t matter who finishes our attacks.
- Was it important for you not to concede in this significant match?
- It was important for me to win and get out of the group.
- Do you follow the number of your appearances?
- I don’t. Only before the game in Zaporizhia I got to know that the following game would be special for me.
- How do you feel being Dynamo “number one” in the number of matches played?
- Actually nothing has changed for me.
- Can the team relax in the Europa League?
- Every game is important for us. We can’t play anyhow. This is my attitude to football. Maybe this is why I keep playing and set ambitious goals.
- Dynamo have qualified for knock-out stage. Does it mean that you’ve reached your main aim?
- We are still to play two more games in the Ukrainian Premier League this year.
We congratulate our ageless goalkeeper and hope he’ll keep featuring for the club he devotes his great career to!
