Defender Oleksii Sych, having just signed a contract, shared his first impressions after joining our club.
– Oleksii, welcome to Dynamo! Please share your impressions of the first minutes, the first moments of being in the capital’s team.
– I am very happy to join such a big club. The emotions are positive, the impressions are the best.
– Tell us how this whole process happened, how did you find out about Dynamo’s interest, and how quickly did everything happen?
– I was with Karpaty at a training camp in Slovenia. After one of the friendly games, my agent called and said that there was such an offer, whether I was interested. I answered: “Of course, why not.” And literally within a day or two everything was decided.
– You chose the number five. Why did you choose this particular number?
– Previously, I always wore 77, now I had a desire to change something. I was not attached to anything, I just chose the fifth one.
– Have you already spoken with the coaching staff and your future teammates?
– I have not spoken with the coaches yet. I exchanged messages with some of the guys – they asked what and how.
– Did they give you advice on how to adapt in the team?
– No. Basically, I have many friends and acquaintances at Dynamo, so I think there will be no need for adaptation as such.
– You have spent practically your entire professional football career in Lviv. Now – a new city, a new environment, a new experience. Are you ready for this challenge?
– Yes, I think I am ready. As they say, a new city – new opportunities. You need to change something, to leave your comfort zone. That is how people become stronger.
– What are your ambitions now? What would you consider a successful performance in the squad of such a titled club as Dynamo?
– Winning the championship.
– The team has already completed the summer training camp and played two qualification matches of the Europa League. Will this add difficulties to the adaptation process, since you went through the preseason preparation with your previous club?
– I cannot say. It will be clear in practice when I join the team. First of all, I need to get familiar with the coach’s requirements. I will adapt!..
