Pavlo Cherednichenko: “This victory has a positive impact on the team’s psychological state”

Dynamo U21 senior coach Pavlo Cherednichenko commented on the home victory over Kudrivka (5-1) in the 10th round of the UPL-2 championship.

– How difficult was the match, especially considering that the team conceded first? Before this, there had been two consecutive defeats – against Karpaty and Zhytomyr’s Polissia…

– Indeed, the team approached the match in a difficult psychological state. We needed to put the situation right and implement the coaches’ instructions. All players who, through their hard work and attitude, deserve to be on the first team’s radar must step onto the football pitch and prove their ability – through their play and work, as well as the result.

Therefore, this victory has a positive impact on our team’s psychological state. We want to continue working in this manner, bringing joy to our fans and the club, as well as helping the boys develop so that, in the future, they can move up to the first team.

– Were there any discussions within the squad after the recent setbacks? Perhaps the players spoke to each other to provide psychological support?

– We spoke with the players both individually and as a team. We tried to prepare the players psychologically, point out the mistakes they made in the matches against Karpaty and Polissia, and explain that they must not be repeated. A match does not last 25 or 45 minutes – we must demonstrate our best football throughout all 90 minutes. We had a conversation after the match against Karpaty, and another after the game against Polissia. I hope that from now on, we will only improve in many aspects.

– Today Kyrylo Osypenko returned to the pitch after a long break and scored a goal. How important is it for the team that players are getting match practice again after serious injuries and surgeries?

– It is a positive thing for the player himself, for the team, and for competition within the squad. The more talented players who work conscientiously during training get match practice, the better it is for everyone. Competition has a positive effect in every area of the team. We want as many players as possible to be able to train fully, suffer injuries less frequently, maintain match fitness, and create healthy competition with one another. Both the team as a whole and each individual player benefit from this.
