Acting head coach of Dynamo Kyiv U19 Pavlo Cherednichenko commented on the team’s first friendly match of the new year.
- We planned to play our first match of the training camp in a way that would allow every player to get as much playing time as possible. That’s why the match was held in a format of four halves of 30 minutes each with every player spending 60 minutes on the pitch. In next matches players will get more playing time and we will play two matches in one day. So the preparation for Atlético continues.
- Why was this particular format - four halves of 30 minutes - chosen?
- We have a lot of players at our disposal. We wanted to give each of them game time so everyone played 60 minutes.
- What is the team’s preparation plan for this training camp?
- Preparation this year actually began on January 6. We trained at our base with two sessions per day in the indoor arena and played an internal match in a format of three halves of 20 minutes. We have four more matches planned so that all players get game time and reach maximum sharpness for the match against Atlético.
First of all we are now preparing for that match but also for the Ukrainian championship. We set high goals so we are counting on all players and want to see results and progress from everyone.
