Ponomarenko and Husiev included in Ukraine U20 squad for the 2025 World Cup

Head coach of the Ukraine U20 national team Dmytro Mykhaylenko has finalized the squad for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup.

A total of 21 players were named including two from Dynamo Kyiv – forward Matviy Ponomarenko (No. 9) and defender Oleksiy Husiev (No. 20), who is currently on loan at Kudrivka.

Today the yellow-and-blues departed for South America where they will play a warm-up match against the Australia U20 team on the night of September 21–22.

Ukraine will kick off their World Cup campaign on September 27 against South Korea, followed by matches against Panama (September 30) and Paraguay (October 3).

The top two teams from each of the six groups, along with the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 16. From there the tournament will proceed in a traditional knockout format.
