Press conference of FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu after the win against FC Kolos Kovalivka (7:0).
- The game and final score speak for themselves. Guys were getting ready for the game properly and did what I asked them to. The first half was perfect.
The pressure we applied let us deal with Kolos defense and we used space.
This win is important as usually our games against Kolos are pretty tough.
Of course the second half was different as players relaxed a bit.
I didn’t like them leaving their positions and rushing forward. That let visitors have some counterattacks and create chances. Still we haven’t conceded due to Denys Boiko and our defenders.
- How do you feel, Mister?
- I’m fine, thank you.
- Sidcley and Gerson Rodrigues didn’t take part in the team photo session. Sidcley has already left. What about Gerson?
- As for Sidcley, he begged us to let him join PAOK. He’s 27, so he wants to play. He understands that Mykolenko, who performs in his position, is doing good job.
As for Gerson, one Italian club was going to sign him. He wants to play in Italy. So far we don’t know what happens.
- Forwards haven’t scored a single goal out of seven. Is that disturbing?
- It’s not a problem to me. What matters is that we score. Last season 17 Dynamo players hit the target. If only one player is able to score, any team will find a way to deal with him.
It’s difficult to get accustomed at once if you don’t know our game principles. It takes time to get used.
- What do you think of the Champions League drawing?
- We have very tough group. We were doing well last season although lost against group leaders. Lack of experience and individual mistakes didn’t let us gain more points. But we’ve got stronger since then.
Unfortunately we can’t count on a group of players – Popov, Bushchan, Besedin. We must get ready for every game very carefully.
