The head coach of FC Dynamo Kyiv answered journalists’ questions following the home victory over FC Rukh Lviv.
– Good evening. Today is the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes. We must remember this and continue fighting for our independence.
– There was a lot of talk about the pitch before the game. Did you adjust to the condition of the field? And did the team carry out the game plan?
– As for executing the game plan – if the scoreboard shows that we won that’s already good. The quality of the pitch today did not allow us to fully implement everything we had worked on during the training camp, especially in the second half when the field became frozen. It was difficult but players handled it well. We added a bit more speed and aggression in the final third which allowed us to bring the match to a logical conclusion – our victory.
– How would you assess Maksym Korobov’s debut?
– Maksym coped well with his task. He didn’t allow the opponent to create chances near our goal. Of course we would have liked a bit more quality in finishing. There was a moment when he struck the post. Overall I believe the young players born in 2006–2007 – Maksym Korobov, Matvii Ponomarenko and Bohdan Redushko – performed deservedly. They didn’t disrupt the game, instead they added freshness and aggression to our play.
