FC Dynamo Kyiv caretaker manager Olexandr Shovkovskyi answered journalists’ questions after the game against FC Metalist Kharkiv in Uzhhorod.
- Good afternoon. I hope it will be a good one for our country, but we all know what happened this night. Football continues, but of course the most important one will be the victory we’re all looking forward to.
- Can you compare emotions of the coaching debut with those you had as a player?
- That’s different. When you play, you’re responsible for your actions. Besides, having certain experience you can influence your teammates in a way. You must be confident. So must a coach. But I want to emphasize that we have a head coach. Unfortunately, he’s got health issues, but we all hope he’ll get well as soon as possible.
We constantly keep in touch with the head coach. There’s a certain training system that can’t be changed under any circumstances.
- Are you satisfied with the game?
- Everything was fine. We controlled the match and had chances in the first half we were supposed to use. Still Metalist had some dangerous attacks. Eventually we scored twice, but then conceded and the team got frustrated. Everyone makes mistakes, that’s normal. The problem is that we got confused after that goal.
- Did the red card for Metalist player help your team a lot?
- It was easier to have our combinations when opponent got outnumbered. We tried to increase the speed to make Metalist make mistakes. That’s actually what happened. But individual skills are vital. We emphasized that we wouldn’t score if we don’t shoot. Today the shot from distance resulted in the first goal and then we scored two more due to decent combinations.
