Dynamo Kyiv head coach answered journalists’ questions following the match against Shakhtar Donetsk in Lviv.
– First of all, I want to say that this “Clasico” was a real one. There were moments when emotions went beyond the limit but overall players managed to stay in control. Of course there are aspects I’m not satisfied with – both in my team’s performance and in the refereeing.
This is already the second time when a clear penalty hasn’t been awarded in favour of our team. It happened in the match against Zorya and again today against Shakhtar. It was a one hundred percent penalty.
– You’ve experienced Ukrainian “Clasicos” both as a player and now as a coach. Some say that this rivalry has lost its intensity. After today’s match can we say that the passion of the “Clasico” has returned?
– The real intensity will return when the stadiums are once again packed to capacity. When our fans will be concerned not about what’s happening with their families, friends or our defenders on the front line – but about what’s happening on the football pitch.
As long as the war continues in our country the atmosphere will be different. We are grateful to our defenders – both men and women – for giving us the opportunity to step onto the football field today.
– Recently you’ve been trusting Mykhavko with the left-back position. How would you assess his performance there?
– I don’t want to evaluate players individually. We’re working on different tactical options and one of them is using Mykhavko as a left-back.
