The White-Blues will face FC Steaua in Bucharest at the Arena Națională.
Construction of the stadium started in 2008 and finished in 2011. It costed the city 234 million euro. The arena was officially opened on September 6 2011 with a friendly between Romania and France (0:0) attended by 49,137 supporters.
The venue holds 55,600 people.
The predecessor of the stadium, which was demolished, also had a status of “National”.
Arena Națională is multifunctional, which means it can hold concerts, different shows and boxing nights. In 2012 47,000 people came to Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.
That’s possible due to extendable roof. With its help weather can be no threat to football of other events.
As for the screen, it’s a video display and scoreboard gondola. The surface of each screen is 30 square meters.
Seats are of Romania flag colours – red, yellow and blue as the arena hosts the national team matches. Grandstands have two circles.
There are 3,600 VIP-seats at the stadium and 126 seats for media (can be increased to 548), 360 break areas and 2100 parking lots.
The arena is located in front of the park, which has several training pitches, tennis courts, skating rink, swimming pools and other objects of sports infrastructure.
On May 9 2012 the Europa League final between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao was held at the Arena Națională, which was witnessed by 52,347 spectators. Madrid side won the game – 3:0.
In 2020 this stadium will host four European contest matches.
