It will take at the most modern stadium of Romania Arena Națională in Bucharest.
Construction of the stadium started on February 20 2008 and finished on September 6 2011. It costed the city 234,5 million euro.
The venue holds 55,634 people. The arena was officially opened on September 6 2011 with a friendly between Romania and France (0:0) attended by 49,137 supporters.
The record number of fans was documented on October 16 2012 at the 2014 World Cup qualifier against the Netherlands – 53,239 people.
On May 9 2012 the Europa League final between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao was held at Arena Națională, which was witnessed by 53,247 spectators.
In 2020 this stadium will host four European contest matches.
The main highlight of the arena introduced by the Max Bögl Group is the extendable transparent roof.
One stadium for everyone
Arena Națională is the home stadium for Romania national team.
Leading clubs of the country, such as FC Steaua București, FC Dinamo București and FC Rapid București use it for domestic league top matches and euro cups games.
This season Steaua defeated Aalborg BK (6:0) and Rio Ave FC (2:1) within the Europa League at Arena Națională.
How to get there
We inform fans, who want to support the White-Blues in the match against Steaua, that Arena Națională is located in eastern part of Bucharest, 4 km far from the city center. To reach the stadium choose Dristor 2 direction at Gara de Nord subway station. The arena is situated 15 minutes away from the station called Piata Muncii (M1 line).
You can also take trolley buses #86 and 90. Another variant is a tram (#40 or 54) from Piata Sfânta Vineri. There’s also a bus #104 from Piaţa Unirii going to the stadium.
Pay attention
Arena Națională is located in housing area of the city.
There are only few places there, where you can have a bite not far from the park on Basarabia boulevard. On the other hand there are a lot of cafes and restaurants in the city center.
