Dynamo Kyiv defender Taras Mykhavko commented on the 0:1 defeat to Metalist 1925 in Matchday 23 of the Ukrainian Premier League on Football Hub.
– Second consecutive narrow defeat. Today the team had a lot of possession, especially in the first half. Is the problem only in finishing?
– Of course, it’s disappointing that we lost. But in football the team that dominates doesn’t always win. That’s what happened today. Yes, in the first half we completely controlled the game and even in the second half, until we conceded, the match was under our control. It seems the opponent scored with their first shot on target… A set piece, some chaos, a rebound - you saw it yourselves. So we have what we have.
– Did Maciej Kędziorek say anything after the match? As far as we know he specializes in set pieces… What exactly happened during that moment?
– I didn’t fully see the episode because it happened behind my back. There was a rebound, the ball was bouncing around, then it fell to their player who wasn’t offside, and he converted the chance. Of course it’s frustrating that it happened like that - as I said the team that dominates doesn’t always win.
– How would you assess your physical condition after the injury?
– I trained with the main group for a few days and prepared for today’s match. You could say I’ve fully recovered from the injury. It wasn’t physically easy but I was ready for it and understood that after such injuries matches are not always easy. Now I can say that I’m ready to help the team achieve positive results.
