Ukraine U21 defeats Hungary in Euro 2027 qualifiers with three Dynamo players involved

On Tuesday, March 31, Ukraine U21 national football team played another match in the qualification campaign for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027. After a 1:1 home draw against Lithuania U21 national football team, “Blue and Yellows” traveled to Budapest to face Hungary U21 national football team.

The team coached by Unai Melgosa secured a 2:1 away victory.

Ukraine opened the scoring midway through the first half when Pyshchur headed the ball in from close range after a cross from the right by Krupskyi. In the second half Synchuk doubled the lead with a precise strike into the far corner after Krevsun won possession in midfield.

Hungary managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Dénes but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat.

As a result Ukraine earned three important points, bringing their total to 8 points from 6 matches, currently placing them third in the group standings.

Three representatives of Dynamo Kyiv featured in the match: midfielder Bohdan Redushko started the game and played until the 63rd minute. He was replaced by Anton Tsarenko who is currently on loan at Lechia Gdańsk. Defender Oleksii Husiev, on loan at Kudrivka FC, came on from the bench and played the entire second half.

Ukraine U21 will play their next qualifier match on September 26 at home against Turkey U21 national football team.
