Dynamo head coach Ihor Kostiuk shared his expectations ahead of the second leg of the Europa League first qualifying round against Universitatea Cluj.
– Universitatea are an experienced team that we respect. In the match a week ago, they played with three natural holding midfielders – it was the head coach’s tactical plan. Despite that, our team created plenty of chances and dominated throughout the game.
We are focused on our own football. Quiet confidence before the match is stronger than loud statements.
– Vladislav Blănuță previously played for Universitatea. Did you speak with him about the opponent?
– We studied the opponents thoroughly because there are plenty of open sources available. Vladislav played for Universitatea quite a long time ago so we couldn’t rely on that.
– A large crowd is expected at tomorrow’s match. Will that create pressure on the team?
– I think quite the opposite – an atmosphere like that will give us extra motivation.
