The head coach of Dynamo answered questions from the media after the Kyiv derby played at Obolon’s ground.
– What happened to the team in the last 15 minutes? Until then everything seemed fine, Dynamo were in control of the game…
– We had agreed on what we were going to do and how we were going to do it. But even before the game I noticed a certain lack of proper focus. I told the players about this directly before they went out on the pitch. At the same time we created excellent chances to score more goals which we should have converted. But poor decision-making and a mistake in the final minutes led to conceding a goal and losing important points.
– Did you plan to involve the newcomers more if the game had developed differently?
– You can plan whatever you want but football is unpredictable. Today those players who had been preparing for the game were at my disposal. But they had to go out on the pitch and show their level. I said before the match that they must live up to their level. If they don’t, then in the next game they will be watching how others do it on the field. You can plan everything but the course of the match makes its own adjustments.
I also want to add that in the previous match we honored the memory of 58 of our fallen Heroes who supported the team. That number cannot decrease and sadly it has already increased. Today we received the tragic news that two more Dynamo fans have died. We remember each of them and we thank them and their families…
