- I didn’t expect any activeness from Dynamo on transfer market in January. Kyivans needed to enforce one position – position of left back. Tremoulinas left the team in summer and Makarenko picked up a serious injury and didn’t play in autumn of 2014! Serhiy Rebrov used Mykyta Burda, Oleh Husiev and Domagoj Vida as left back… They did their best, but they are right-footed. Dynamo coach wanted left-footed player to feature on this important position.
Eventually the White-Blues signed Portuguese defender Antunes. I like this choice judging by his play for Malaga.
He’s aggressive and tackling is his strength. Even when opponent eludes him Vitorino tries to catch up with him. Maybe he’s not as affective for attack, but he has really good shot. Antunes works on his weaknesses. Last season he was booked 12 times in 36 La Liga matches. This season he got only one yellow card in 15 games!
Vitorino Antunes is experienced. He featured in the Champions League quarterfinals for Malaga.
