FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Polissia Zhytomyr in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 25 game.
Both sides started the match quite actively offering each other mutually intense game. Dynamo had the first chance. Kravets tried to clear the ball, hit Yarmolenko, but goalkeeper Kudryk was there for his team. Zhytomyr side responded with the attempt by Kozak, who eluded Vivcharenko and sent the ball over the bar.
After that Oleksandr Shovkovskyi’s men created quite a lot of scoring opportunities. Vanat was found inside the penalty area, but Chobotenko blocked his strike from a tight angle. Then Vivcharenko passed into the box, Vanat didn’t touch the ball, Buialskyi obtained it, but defender blocked his shot. Mykhavko attempted with a header after cross by Shaparenko from the left side, but missed.
Mustafayev could score one for visitors as he moved from the right wing towards the center and aimed at the far corner, but Bushchan parried. But in the following attack the White-Blues finally opened the score. Yarmolenko found Vanat with a brilliant pass, Vladyslav rushed into the box and sent the ball past the keeper – 1:0.
Nevertheless Polissia tried to stick to their tactics. Nazarenko entered the penalty area from the left side, shot, but Tymchyk managed to block it. Right before the break Dynamo could increase their lead as Vanat forced his opponent to make a mistake and Andriyevskyi obtained the ball, but Oleksandr missed.
The second half started with a trouble for Polissia. In the 52nd minute Vivcharenko got the ball down the center, passed to the left to Shaparenko and Mykola hit the far corner accurately – 2:0.
Halfway through the second half visitors got outnumbered. Kravets got two bookings within a few minutes and was sent off. Andriyevskyi took a free kick dangerously, but goalkeeper parried his strike.
Vanat netted the ball after low cross from Vivcharenko in the 70th minute, but the White-Blues’ left back was flagged offside. Yarmolenko attempted with a heel from a close range, but that was blocked by defender.
Still eventually Dynamo scored another one. Buialskyi dispossessed his opponent, Vanat got the ball, passed to Vitalii and the midfielder hit the open goal – 3:0.
Vivcharenko and Shepelev had their opportunities as well, but didn’t use those. Anyway, Dynamo win and preserve the second place in the league table.
