FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Zoria Luhansk at the NSC Olimpiyskyi within the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 18 which was their last game of the year.
Both sides featured in euro cups midweek. Dynamo faced SL Benfica away while Zoria opposed FK Bodo/Glimt in Zaporizhia. These were final games on European arena for both teams and now they can focus on domestic competitions.
Mircea Lucescu’s men started the match aggressively. Harmash attempted with a header, but keeper handled the ball. Tsyhankov entered Zoria penalty area from the right wing and hit the post.
Visitors didn’t have a lot of opportunities before the break. Meanwhile Dynamo were attacking. Harmash had two incredible chances within a couple of minutes. At first goalkeeper parried Denys’ shot with his leg and then Favorov blocked his attempt from close range.
Anyway, the White-Blues succeeded before the break. Shaparenko found Harmash, Denys passed to Buialskyi and Vitaliy made it 1:0.
Zoria managed to equalize early in the second half. Sayyadmanesh obtained the ball inside the box and hit the bottom corner – 1:1.
After the score became even, both sides started playing attacking football. Tsyhankov attempted from distance and, after rebound, the ball was falling into the net, but goalkeeper reached it. In the following attack Nazaryna didn’t cope with Bushchan in one-on-one situation.
In the 60th minute Zoria scored another one, but the goal was fairly disallowed as Imerekov was offside. Verbic sent the ball over the bar, Karavayev unleashed a strike from inside the penalty area, but goalkeeper did well again.
Dynamo were gradually increasing the pressure, but Zoria keeper Matsapura was doing a great job. Still, Zoria could grab the winner too. Bushchan parried Nazaryna’s shot from distance. Kabayev sent the ball wide.
The final chord of the game was the strike by Tsyhankov Matsapura also coped with.
So, it’s 1:1. Dynamo finish the first part of the UPL season lacking two points behind FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
