FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Zoria Luhansk in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 21 game and succeeded 2:0. Before the match the Dynamo were 4th in the league table while Zoria – 12th.
Due to quite heavy snow the teams had to play with the green ball. Kyivans took the situation under control straight away, but Zoria neutralized the danger. Brazhko attempted from distance, but goalkeeper grabbed the ball. Visitors responded with the strike by Ndour Bushchan parried.
Luhansk side mostly used counterattacks some of which were quite sharp while Dynamo maintained possession. Voloshyn put a cross into the box, which wasn’t effective. Corners weren’t either.
Eventually the White-Blues succeeded 30 minutes into the game. After pass from Shaparenko, Vanat obtained the ball in front of the six-yard box and sent it past the keeper – 1:0.
Later Shaparenko took a free kick, but defenders cleared the ball. Shortly before the break Vanat could increase the lead, but missed just a bit.
The second half started with Zoria attacks, but Mykhavko didn’t let Ndour shoot with a tackle while Bushchan coped with the strike from Basic. It was quite a danger in Zoria penalty area as Jean Claude passed back to the keeper, who handled the ball, and referee awarded a free kick. Vanat attempted after pass from Shaparenko, but the shot was blocked.
Voloshyn crossed into the penalty area to Karavayev, Olexandr attempted with a header, but keeper Saputin saved.
Dynamo doubled the score as Andriyevskyi took a free kick and Popov headed the ball in.
So, Dynamo win 2:0. After this matchday there will be the international break in club football. The White-Blues will play their next game on Sunday, March 31, as they face FC Vorskla Poltava away.
