The match started lively with both sides quickly creating chances. Dynamo’s Karavaiev tested the goalkeeper early while Bruninho responded for Karpaty. In the 24th minute Alvarez capitalized on a defensive scramble and struck from distance to make it 1:0. Just three minutes later after a cross from Kostenko Brunino doubled the lead with a close-range finish - 2:0.
Dynamo pressed to respond but Karpaty threatened a third before halftime. However in the 43rd minute Dynamo pulled one back: after a corner Karavaiev escaped his marker and headed in at the near post - 2:1 at the break.
The second half saw Dynamo turn things around quickly. In the 50th minute Shaparenko combined with Voloshyn and scored with a low strike - 2:2. Two minutes later after another corner Karavaiev found space and fired from near the penalty spot to put Dynamo ahead - 2:3.
Karpaty nearly equalized when Dubinchak had to clear off the line and later Paulo Vitor missed a great chance, blasting over. Dynamo created several opportunities but were denied repeatedly by Karpaty goalkeeper Domchak.
The drama peaked in stoppage time. First Brazhko cleared from the goal line but moments later Bruninho set up Miroshnychenko who hit a powerful shot from outside the box that bounced before finding the near corner - 3:3.
It ended as a thrilling draw, Dynamo’s third in a row. Their next match is on Sunday, October 5, at home against Metalist 1925 Kharkiv.
