Shakhtar were four points in front before this match, so Dynamo needed to win to continue the title race.

Dynamo responded with their opportunity. Shaparenko got the ball in the left side, passed to Kabayev, Vladyslav moved towards the center and shot, but Riznyk parried. In a while the White-Blues had another chance, but the shot by Buialskyi was blocked.
In the 33rd minute Shakhtar opened the score. Referee didn’t whistle the foul against Buialskyi although Kryskiv dispossessed him dangerously, the attack continued and the ball hit the hand of Vivcharenko after the shot from Sikan. Upon consulting with VAR referee awarded penalty and Sudakov converted from the spot – 1:0.
Dynamo responded with another sharp attack. Tymchyk aimed at the far corner, but goalkeeper parried while Shaparenko missed with a follow-up.
Right before the second half the White-Blues’ gaffer subbed Andrii Yarmolenko in.
Supported by experienced Andrii Dynamo made Shakhtar defend. The shot by Vanat was blocked while Kabayev missed from distance. Popov attempted with a header after corner, but Riznyk reached the ball.
As the final whistle was approaching the White-Blues were increasing their pressure, but unfortunately failed to unleash the decisive strike.
Meanwhile Shakhtar had a dangerous counterattack finished by Traore, who missed just a bit. Still one goal was enough for them to win – 1:0.
