Vitalii Lobko: «I’m very happy because this was my dream»

Young striker shared his emotions after the match against FC Poltava in which he made his debut in the starting lineup for Dynamo Kyiv and won a penalty early in the game.

— Congratulations on your debut! What emotions are you feeling?

— Thank you for congratulations. Honestly, this was my dream so I’m very happy. I want to thank coaches for their trust. I went onto the pitch and repaid them as best I could — I won a penalty for Andriy Mykolaiovych. Congratulations to him on the goal and to the whole team on the victory.

— Overall in the first half you had a lot of running and defensive work without the ball. How is it for a striker to play without possession?

— Coaches demanded that I keep running, not stop, and participate in the pressing. I think I did what I could. Yes, there was a lot of battling without the ball — sometimes I lost duels, sometimes I won them. There is still a lot to work on.

— How did you find out you would be in the starting lineup?

— Yesterday during the tactical meeting they told me that Pavlo Liusin and me would go to train with the first team and would be included in the squad. Then this morning I found out that I would start the match. Once again, thanks to all — it was my dream, and it came true. But I still have many more dreams so I’ll keep working to achieve them.

— After learning yesterday that you would be included in the first-team squad, were you able to sleep?

— Yes, I slept, but I still thought a lot and talked with my parents. Everyone supported me. I understand that this is only the beginning — there is still a lot more to come. You’ll see! (smiles)
