- Vitaliy, this is the first time you face such situation. What’s the most important about the training process at the moment?
- The most important thing for players is to keep training regularly. Every day they should work on endurance, strength and speed.
- How much does running exercise load differ from the one players usually have at training camps?
- At the moment we create training program considering players’ physical conditions. Each player has individual exercises. The major task under these circumstances is to maintain their fitness.
- Players do the major part of training work at home. Can you control their sessions somehow?
- As for the work they do at home, it’s mostly about our trust to them. Still they send us videos of their sessions sometimes. We considered the option of having online sessions via video chat, but that won’t replace normal training process. Speaking about the running exercise load, we can control it. Coming to the training complex players get GPS transmitters with a help of which we can analyze the data.
- Does the training program change from week to week?
- Yes, we try to change exercises every week. We need players to stay in good shape. Their bodies mustn’t get out of the habit of training process.
- How long can players stay fit this way if the quarantine runs over?
- Well they can do this all their life, but the thing is they do football professionally and that’s a completely different work. It’s not just about personal fitness. They need special exercises with the ball and normal training process.
- How long will it take players to get ready for continuation of the season after quarantine is over?
- It depends upon how long quarantine lasts and whether they do individual work properly. Loosely speaking, after two-month quarantine players will need several weeks to get ready for games. Maybe that won’t be hundred per cent enough, but at least they’ll be in certain shape to play for 90 minutes.
