- I’m really glad to become the part of FC Dynamo Kyiv! I hope I’ll prove that I’m worth the trust of club direction and head coach with my work and skills. I believe that this season we’ll win the domestic title.
- What did you know about Dynamo before the transfer?
- I knew that this club raised a lot of famous players I could follow. I hope this year we’ll prove that we are capable of wining serious trophies.
- Do you know your compatriot Miguel Veloso personally? Did you ask him for advice before the move to Kyiv?
- We’ve been acquainted with Miguel since we both featured for Portugal youth team. Later we also performed for Selecção together. Miguel has told me a lot about Ukraine. He’s persuaded me that people are great here and that there is whatever is required for work and life in Kyiv.
- Dynamo are about to have a training camp in Marbella, which is not far from Malaga, where you used to play and live. Will this fact help you adapt to the team quicker?
- On one side that will really make my adaptation more comfortable, but that’s not very important. First of all I want to blend into the team as quickly as possible, to make new friends. That’s why it’s great that my compatriot and friend Miguel Veloso also features for Dynamo.
- How did you decide to go in for football? Who’s the person that took you to Freamunde academy?
- I’ve been fond of football since childhood. I really wanted to become a professional player when a kid. That’s why it’s difficult to name one particular person that helped me with that. I guess it was my love to football first of all.
- What is the club you signed your first professional contract with?
- That’s SC Freamunde.
- You made your debut in the Champions League at quite an early age. In that game you featured for AS Roma for 90 minutes against Manchester United and eventually became the man of the match. Can you recall emotions you experiences back then?
- Sure, it was great to make a debut in the Champions League. The fact that I became the man of the match became additional impulse for my career.
- Your most successful Champions League campaign was with Malaga CF. You reached the quarterfinal and lost against Borussia Dortmund only in a stoppage time. That must me a precious experience for you…
- Of course, those matches gave me and my teammates priceless experience. I think I’ll use it featuring for Dynamo as we want to perform successfully in euro cups. First of all we are to outplay EA Guingamp.
- How come you returned to FC Paços de Ferreira from Roma?
- The thing is that I played for different teams on loan as I couldn’t find common ground with Roma coaches. That’s why I decided to return to Paços de Ferreira. Anyway today I’m totally focused on Dynamo. I’ll do my best to help the team win the domestic title and qualify for the Champions League.
- The only trophy you’ve won so far is the Coppa Italia. Is desire to have more one of the reasons for your transfer to Dynamo?
- Sure, our aim is to win the UPL and to feature in the Champions League. Dynamo are great club, so the more trophies we win the better.
