FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Vladyslav Dubinchak has commented upon the win against Kryvbas (2:0) and shared his impressions of the first ever call-up to the national team.
- First of all congrats on you debut call-up to the national team. Was this unexpected?
- Thank you. I guess it was. I’m really happy, it’s a huge milestone for me and my family. I’d been dreaming of that my whole life. I feel so inspired and hope I won’t let the head coach down.
- How did you find out about your call-up?
- I talked to older guys, like Yarmolenko. Basically he was the first to tell me. At first I was skeptical and believed only when I saw my name on the squad lost. And then the official paper was sent to the club.
- Today was the first game for Olexandr Shovkovskyi as caretaker manager. Has anything already changed?
- He’s trying to share his vision with us. Every day we have theory classes. You’ve probably noticed what’s changed, especially in terms of the role of laterals. We were playing in the center, defended as we need to win and gain points first of all.
- How important is this win against one of the league leaders, considering your recent failures?
- We have no room for mistake after four winless games. It was our last chance to approach the leaders.
