Dynamo Kyiv defender Vladyslav Zakharchenko shared his thoughts after the match against LNZ Cherkasy (0:0) on UPL TV.
– A draw against a difficult opponent, LNZ Cherkasy. In your opinion, is this a positive result for Dynamo or could the team have snatched a victory today?
– I wouldn’t say it’s a positive result because we always aim to win. But LNZ are also a strong team, they are in second place. So, in that sense, it’s not shameful to draw with them though of course we wanted more.
– The ending of the match was very emotional - many chances, many substitutions aimed at strengthening the attack. Looking back at those moments why do you think the team failed to break the opponent down, even though you came quite close to scoring?
– Credit to the opponent, they defend very well. They sat in a low block and we hardly had any chances. But I also think we need to be more creative, more active and find those opportunities.
– There’s been a lot of talk lately that Dynamo supposedly no longer have much to fight for in the league, since everything now comes down to the Cup and the final against Chernihiv. How do you view this situation and how do you prepare mentally for every match?
– Of course, people can say whatever they want. But we are Dynamo and we cannot go into UPL matches - even if they no longer play a major role - without giving everything we have. Dynamo is a brand and we must go out and win every game because thousands of people are watching us.
