Volodymyr Ozymai: «We prepared for a difficult match so there was no underestimation at all»

Midfielder of Dynamo Kyiv U19 Volodymyr Ozymai shared his impressions after the away match against LNZ Cherkasy and the 2:0 victory:

— The mood is very positive. We did not relax after the game against Shakhtar and understood that this would be an equally difficult match. It was a bit tough because of the away trip and also because of the unusual kick-off time. Besides that it was very humid. But overall we are heading home in a good and positive mood.

— It seemed like there was a strong wind. Did it really interfere?

— Yes, in the first half we played against the wind and it caused some difficulties. But we adapted to the conditions and used our chances both in the first half and in the second half when we were playing with the wind so it did not become a problem for us.

— How exactly did you prepare for this game after the emotional victory over Shakhtar? Was there any risk of relaxing or underestimating the opponent?

— No, there was no relaxation at all. You could see that all guys were fully focused. The coaching staff emphasized that this game would be even more difficult than the match against Shakhtar. So there was no talk of taking it easy.

— Even despite the fact that you won the first-round match 7:0 you were not expecting an easy game?

— No. It was clear that LNZ squad had changed. We prepared for a difficult match so there was no underestimation at all.

— You scored the first goal around the middle of the first half but the score remained narrow until the second goal. There was still no reason to relax, right?

— Even if the score had been bigger we still would not have relaxed. In football you have to play from the first minute to the last with maximum concentration. It does not matter whether the score is 2:0, 5:0 or 10:0 — you have to play the match until the end. Near the end of the game we had several difficult moments in our own penalty area when we could have conceded. But we will analyze all of that in our team review sessions.

— Did you expect LNZ to play so aggressively in attack? They created several good chances, Vyacheslav Surkis made saves and defenders cleared the ball. Were you prepared for that?

— Unfortunately near the end of the match after set pieces near our goal we sometimes lost track of players, sometimes failed to finish episodes properly and lacked concentration. That is why dangerous moments appeared near our goal. But, as I said, we will analyze everything together as a team and move forward.
