Dynamo Kyiv came back from a goal down to secure a 1-2 win to FC Vorskla Poltava at the Vorskla stadium in an uncompromising encounter on Sunday evening. Oleh Krasnopyorov earned the home side a first half lead before second-half goals from Brown Ideye and Andriy Yarmolenko guaranteed the three points.
The visitors opened the scoring on thirty-six minutes when Ivan Kryvosheyenko’s smart pass found Oleh Krasnopyorov free in the penalty area, right in front of Shovkovskyy’s goal, and the Vorskla midfielder steered calmly past Dynamo goalkeeper to give his side the lead.
The second-half introduction of Andriy Yarmolenko enlivened Dynamo’s actions. The White-Blues had a number of promising attacks and their persistence paid off after 65 minutes when Oleksandr Aliyev seized upon Milevskyy’s back-heel pass and tried his luck from an acute angle. Dolhanskyy parried his effort, but into the path of Brown Ideye, whose close-rage header made it 1-1. Four minutes later the scoreline became 1-2 in Dynamo’s favour as Artem Milevskyy drove into the box, and slipped a clever ball to Andriy Yarmolenko who sent it into the net with just one touch.
No need to say that Vorksla once again proved to be tough opponents for our team. Nonetheless, the White-Blues managed to show their character and seal the win.
