It seems that was yesterday. 10 years ago FC Dynamo Kyiv trainee Andriy Shevchenko became the best player in Europe!
Still outstanding talent of our forward is beyond time. Few people know that shortly before the most significant awarding ceremony in his career Andriy came to orphanage in Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi (Kyiv region). He gladdened kids with his visit and presented them with a lot of useful stuff.
Later we recorded interview, which was published by World Soccer magazine in several days. Shevchenko told about his sincere love to motherland, his brilliant coach Valeriy Lobanovskyi and the club, which set him up in life!
You know, great stars are remembered not only due to fabulous goals, but also due to what they do outside football arenas.
This is truth, isn’t it…
