The White-Blues defeated Atletico Madrid in the final – 3:0. Olexandr Zavarov, who opened the score in that game, has told about the tournament:
- What was special about Dynamo other teams lacked?
- We had really good players and wanted to win everything we could. We also had wise coach, who formed great team.
- Several days before the final Chornobyl disaster happened in Ukraine…
- We found out about what happened only on May 1. Going to Lyon we decided we couldn’t lose. We wanted to gladden people at least a bit.
