Andriy YARMOLENKO: “It’s better to win demonstrating good play”

- Andriy, do you believe that Poland can at least tie the game against England?

- There’s no use hoping on someone. First of all we must think about our match.

- Didn’t two yellow cards, Ukrainian supporting midfielders got early in the game, give cause for concern?

- They are experienced players and yellow cards made them calm down a bit.

- Ukraine lay stress not quality of play, but on the final result. Which game within 2014 World Cup qualification was the best for the Yellow-Blues?

- If we play spectacularly, but achieve bad results that won’t satisfy anyone. Of course it’s better to win and demonstrate good play.

- What happened late in the first half? Poland had some goal-scoring opportunities…

- Poland played very orderly. They had good counterattacks. Still I think that after the break we played better.

- Was it easier to play after the goal?

- Of course it was.

- Can you recall the episode when you scored?

- Yevhen Konoplianka put a good cross into the box and my task was to hit the target.

- What was the difference between this match against Poland and the one which took place in Warsaw?

- This time they played well for defense. In Warsaw they attacked more, but we scored twice early in the game.

- Did you experience psychological pressure before the game in Kharkiv?

- Everything is fine. We knew that a lot of fans would come to support us and that we can win if we demonstrate our best qualities.

- Were there congratulations after the final whistle?

- Of course everyone is satisfied, but we haven’t qualified for the World Cup yet.
